We have just got back from yet another brilliant long weekend at a Haven site. This time we tried Burnham on Sea for the first time. Can safely say we will definitely be returning!
The site is brilliant - beautifully maintained and fab facilities. The pool area was a big hit with my 7 + 4 year old. The amusements are fun and the staff really friendly. We spent an hour cycling round the park on a 4 seater bike which was well worth the money. Cooks Fish & Chips are lush - and the site backs onto Burnham sea front so easily accessible for a walk/scooter along the promenade.
Our caravan was well maintained and cleaned to a high standard and absolutely no faults with this site at all.
Thank you for a great weekend 😊
Having been to this site a few times before we thought we take the opportunity of visiting again as we are dog free for a week. We have been somewhat disappointed. The grass pitches are extremely wet and muddy (not the fault of Haven) but parking our car has been a problem. On every site we have stayed on we have parked our car at the side of or in front of our caravan, but here it appears to be a problem to the warden. In order to do this you have to drive across the grass, which apparently you aren't supposed to do. We parked on the road in front of the van, but this also wasn't right and had a note left on the windscreen.
The toilet block is very clean and modern.
The entertainment block could do with a make over as it looks tired and drab.
Location wise the site is very good, close to the beach and the shops.
Bookd a few days here, first impressions, clean fresh grounds, with hard working groundsmen keeping everywhere tidy, lots of people needing to book in so paid for an upgrade, had a beautiful caravan over looking the lake, really nice, I've read lots of negative revues about the Mash Barrel but our experiences were quite the opposite, I had a sirloin steak and it was cooked beautifully, as a retired butcher, as a suggestion, cut the little ridge of gristle off the edge of the sirloin ore cooking, it will make ws was a really good steak to a really perfect one, that being said, that little strip of gristle was the only thing left of a beautiful freshly cooked tasty meal, will we come back here, yes we would, in a heartbeat.
